Senior Port week 14: The Final

Image
Goals: I wanted to focus on 2 shots, one acting, and one with lip syncing - Did mostly achieved my goals, as my first shot took a lot of time to refine the acting and body mechanics portion, and I did get through a blockout with the lip syncing - The body mechanics shot took way longer then I expected it to mostly due to how extensive the actions were. I also had a lot of trouble mimicking the feeling of "weight" which is also why it took me longer to finish then I originally planned for.   - If I could restart, I would choose a acting shot that was shorter.    Individual Links: Acting Video Link: https://youtu.be/4yoYk3jZ3PY   Lip Sync Video Link: https://youtu.be/8zEq2Z5Gq_M Final Reel: https://youtu.be/jKAwL-ueU2s

Senior Port Part 2: Week 14

ONE WEEK LEFT. RED ALERT. ALARM BELLS GOING OFF.    Okay anyways, MORE PROGRESS! Based off of feedback I got from my peers, I added little things like making the guy more expressive, showing his weight off, and trying to get a more "alive" feel from him. I definitely jumped the gun last week and went right into lip sync, and essentially this week I focused more on the acting itself with the body.

Senior Port Part Two: Week 13

This week I started a new scene from one of my favorite movies Monsters Vs Aliens. It's a scene that's always made me laugh so I wanted to study it and use it as a reference for both acting and contact animation. I've started with the blockout so far, and next week I'll be adding blocking plus (aka inbetween keyes). I know I wont finish this by the end of the semester but that's alright since I plan to continue it through the summer.

Senior Port Part 2: Week 11

Hello party people! On this week of progress I’ve finished my animation to the most I’ll take it to at this point! I fixed a lot with timing, and spacing. Specifically when it came to the “floating” feeling it got when it got to the second part and the character was running away to the other bathroom. It took a long bit but it’s finally done! I’ll add some post edits for the final render next week along with working on a lip sinc animation

WOOOO YAHHHHHH I finally got into spline and fixed a bunch of my animation!!!  Next week I'll clean up the second half as well, then get started on my next animation, a lip synch

Senior Port Part 2: Week 9

This week I FINALLY got my second push on the animation to look right so I'm going to be splining everything next week and then doing a little touch up, then moving onto a simple lip read animation for the following weeks.

Senior Port Part 2: Week 8 SPRING BREAK

Image
This week on CAGD 493, we had spring break, and with the recommendation of our professor, I took a break. A break from animation. The rest of the week I actually spent on rigging a character (Hellboy my beloved) from scratch, which took a lot of effort and research. I ended up mixing youtube videos and reconstructing the rig from another rig I like using for animation in order to learn how it was made.
